Course flood update – Day 4
From the Captain – Rohan Duncan
After touring the course again today, I am very pleased with how we are progressing in getting the course back into excellent condition from the damage these latest floods have created. The staff are doing an amazing job, and I wish to thank each of them on your behalf for their efforts. Given the damage, what they have achieved in such a short time is truly remarkable.
To give you clarity, we are working toward reopening on Monday, 22 January; however, we will confirm this throughout next week once we are clear this can be achieved.
It is simply not feasible to think we can get the course ready any quicker, and we don’t want to compromise to get the course open a few days earlier in any hybrid format we may be able to create.
When we reopen, we will operate under a one-tee start to give course staff extra time to get the course into better condition unencumbered. An extra 4 hours each day having a free run at whatever needs to be done will only get the course back into condition sooner rather than later.
Whilst we are not able to play the course, staff have been able to arrange games at other clubs for members to utilise. As tee times at other courses are offered, we will place them on the website for members to enjoy. Please take into consideration that other members would also like to play, so please be mindful not to take up too many bookings yourself.
