The morning was cold, and the course was blanketed with heavy dew undisturbed by golfers as the finalists of the 4BBB knockout approached the first tee. The match was between the defending champions, Fi Bunting and Leeanne Whitty, versus Prue Graf and Anna Kennedy.
The match started off evenly, with Fi and Leeanne taking an early lead of 2 up through the first 5 holes. Prue and Anna steadied themselves and brought the score back to all square after the 10th hole. However, the defending champs then surged ahead, winning three out of the next four holes, making it 3 up with four holes remaining.
Prue and Anna won the 15th hole, putting any premature celebrations on hold. However, some solid golf from all the finalists on the 16th hole brought the match to an exciting conclusion. Leeanne sealed the victory for her pair with a slippery 15-foot downhill putt, winning the hole and the match with a final score of 3&2.
