Women’s GA Vs Kew Bowl Results
The Green Acres vs. Kew Bowl was played on Thursday, with 7 pairs representing each side. Traditionally, the format is 18 holes of 4BBB, with the aggregate score of each side counting towards the club’s total, and the team with the highest aggregate score being deemed the winner. Unfortunately, Jack Frost had other ideas, delaying the start of play and impacting the ability to complete 18 holes before the scheduled sit-down lunch.
As a result, the decision was made to shorten the round and use the completed 9-hole scores to determine the winner of the bowl.
In the 69-year history of this event, with the first match played in 1954, Green Acres had only won the event 25 times and halved 3 matches. Despite the disruptions, Green Acres emerged victorious, defeating Kew 115 to 113 for the first time since 2012.
Congratulations to all the women members who played in the event!
