Turf Replacement Works – 19th August

As previously advised in the GA News last Friday, work to replace common couch areas of turf in various locations has commenced Monday morning.

A larger area of common couch on the 3rd and 11th holes has been removed than originally anticipated, so the decision has been made to CLOSE both the 3rd and 11th holes until the old turf is removed and the new turf is laid later this week.

All players will need to walk from the 2nd green to the 4th tee, bypassing the 3rd hole, and competition players will be required to take a nett par (2 Stableford points) on this hole whilst it is closed. The same will apply on the 11th hole, with traffic to navigate from the 10th green, past the 11th tee, then along the left bank of the billabong on the far left side, exiting at the rear of the 12th tee. A diagram below indicates the direction required, following the red line.

Until further notice, all areas of newly laid turf will be “No Play Zones” and the nearest point of relief MUST be taken, no nearer to the hole. An updated listing of Temporary Local Rules can be viewed here.
