Interclub Round 4 – Hosted at Green Acres

What an exciting game it was between GA and Latrobe, in Round 4 of Interclub, hosted at Green Acres.  It was a close contest with both teams fairly evenly matched. 

Both teams had 3 wins when Kerry Grabau was 1 down going down the 18^th hole. There was a tense moment when her opponent putted in to square the hole and won the match. All competitors played well. 

Thank you to all the players, caddies and spectators who were there to support GA and watch what was an excited finish.  

Highlights;

• Anne Corboy’s match was tied heading into the 18th hole, where she chipped in for a birdie to win the hole and the match—a truly spectacular finish.
• Brenda Carey showcased her skills, notably with an impressive drive and fairway shot on the 12th, a strong up-and-down from the bunker on the 1st to par the hole, and another solid up-and-down on the 14th.
  
  
• Julia Trafford secured a win on the 4th hole with a well-executed shot. She maintained consistent play throughout the morning, avoiding all bunkers.
  
  
• Nicky Smith delivered a remarkable second shot on the 10th, hitting a ball well below her feet down the fairway. Her drive on the 7th was particularly impressive as it curved beautifully, leaving the ball on the edge of the green.
• Genevieve Moss made a strong drive on the 12th and followed it up with a precise shot from the bunker onto the green.
  
  
• Kerry Grabau staged a thrilling comeback after being 3 down through 13 holes, finishing with a square match on the 18th, making her match an exciting one to watch.
  
  
• Lisa Stambe parred the 5th with a long, accurate putt and used her sand wedge effectively on the 8th, 9th, and 14th holes to set up successful shots.
