WH Richardson Championship

A stunning afternoon presented itself for the Championship Final of the WH Richardson on Sunday. Finalists Josh Monk and Anne Corboy were facing off against Frank Crombie and Trish Mullen for the highly sought perpetual trophy.

Canadian foursomes were the format for the event. All four players set the tone early, with each finding the fairway. As they got into the match, it was Anne and Josh pulling away. With Anne’s approach to 3ft on the 7th, she followed up on the 8th for herself and Josh to take a commanding 4-up lead.

Frank and Trish rallied back, winning the 9th and continuing the fight to pull it back to 2 down on the 12th.

Fast forward to the 15th, Josh has a 2ft putt to seal the match, a horseshoe later and the match was alive.

Determined not to become the Rory McIlroy of Green Acres, Josh put the approach on 17 to within inches, ensuring a 2&1 victory for the 3rd successive year for himself, albeit with a new partner in Anne.

The match was played with fantastic spirit, a sincere congratulations to Frank and Trish for putting up such a great fight.

Well done to our winners, Josh Monk and Anne Corboy!
