The 2024 Men’s Foursomes Championship was completed today. We had three pairs battle it out for their names in history. Despite the difficult foggy conditions early in the first round and the traditionally tricky foursomes, all three pairs displayed some great golf. From the consistency of Barney Greaves and Will Bate, to the precision iron play from Chris Ellis and Lewis Read, and the gritty long putts holed by David Simpson and Robbie Virgato.
Scores were close after the first round, with Barney and Will tied with Chris and Lewis at 76, while David and Robbie were only five shots back. It was still up for grabs!
On the first hole of the second round, a birdie by Barney and Will, compared to a double bogey by Chris and Lewis, gave Barney and Will all the confidence they needed to take and keep the lead for the rest of the day, eventually cruising to victory by six shots.
Well done to Barney and Will on their second Men’s Foursomes Championship, having also won in 2021.
