After 2weeks since the floods, Green Acres Golf Course is finally back open for members, with a field of over 200 bookings taking to the course today.
From the Club Captain – Rohan Duncan
I want to extend my personal gratitude to the course staff who worked tirelessly to get us back so quickly and to a very high standard of presentation. Well done to you all, and a special mention goes to the volunteer members who provided valuable assistance to the cleanup while we were closed.
This is a friendly reminder, as mentioned in the GA news last Friday. Members will find the majority of the course to be in excellent condition. However, there will be some areas that, while undoubtedly playable, will continue to recover in the weeks to come. Some temporary local rules will be implemented and operated until further notice. These can be seen by clicking the link below. These are deemed necessary for the time being but will be removed at the earliest opportunity so that we return to playing the course in its natural state as soon as possible.
TLC – EFFECTIVE 22ND JANUARY
Members should also continue to observe all roped-off areas, particularly areas around the 5th hole (LHS) and 15th hole (RHS between 15th & 16th fairways), which have residual silt and moisture and are very soft underfoot. These areas should be avoided where possible.
