The day was overcast, but light winds made the day pleasant and conducive to great golf. The Founders Cup final was played between Paul Bunting and Ray King.
With handicaps evenly matched (Paul 12 and Ray 16) a tight tussle was always going to eventuate.
Paul started off hitting the first 5 greens in regulation and earned a 2up lead. Just before the turn is where the match turned with Ray winning holes 8 and 9, with his consistency and short game wizardry shining through to end up winning the match 3 and 2.
Ray also won the Founders Cup in 2019, with the event not being played 2020-21 due to covid. Making Ray the champion 2 out of the last 3 years that the event has been played.
