Format: Canadian Mixed Foursomes Matchplay
According to the forecast, Sunday was supposed to be windy, rainy, and miserable. However, the golfing gods blessed us with a sun-laden course and a slight, drying breeze for the W.H. Richardson Final.
Josh Monk & Fiona Bunting were pitted against Simon Marsh & Sue Brennan. Josh & Fiona had to give Simon & Sue 11 shots, and the match got off to a cracking start, with both teams winning 2 holes each and remaining all square through 4 holes.
Neither pair gave an inch, and after 9 holes, the match was still tied up. Even a few spectators braved the cold wind to witness this enthralling match.
The match remained square until the 13th hole, where Josh & Fiona took the lead and held onto it, winning the next 3 holes to secure victory on the 16th hole, 3 & 2.
Congratulations to the 2023 W.H. Richardson Trophy winners, Josh Monk & Fiona Bunting.
